Mind Sports International World Championships

Chess

Mindsports International is pleased to announce that the £10,000 Academy Finals will be rated by FIDE and ECF. The World Chess Federation will be using their rating system as players compete in the open, major and minor categories along with the English Chess Federation who will also be incorporating their ratings system.

FIDE use the ELO ratings system to rank players worldwide. If you do not currently hold a FIDE rating or require further information, please see section seven of the rating regulations (July 2014).

Alongside the Mindsports Finals, FIDE will also be rating the MSI Rapidplay where you can take home a slice of the £1,000 prize pool. Rapidplay will be available on Saturday the 22nd November, giving players the opportunity to compete at the weekend too.

Across the five days of action packed game play, Mindsports International will be offering a host of additional tournaments and activities alongside the Academy Finals. If you’re keen to improve your rating, why not take part in additional tournaments such as the weekday or weekend events, designed to fit around your schedule. Brush up on your blitz and be crowned MSI/ECF British Blitz Champion or become the next Bobby Fischer and take the chess 960 crown!
